THE MAN WITH THE BOWLER

Among the people attending the demolition of the chimneys, I suddenly saw the man with the bowler. I was very surprised to meet him in this parallel world.

As you know, dear readers, the bowler is the symbol of the inspectors in Mylos.

What was this Mylos inspector doing in Groningen ? How did he arrive in this parallel world ? All questions I could not answer at that moment. But as we made a habit of, we do not only ask questions and say nice words. No, you want answers and that's what we are going to give to you.

THE WEARING OF HATS

The 'Guide of the Cities' from Schuiten and Peeters gives a good picture of the sad situation in Mylos concerning the wearing of hats. Schuiten and Peeters are writing: "Characteristic to the sad situation in Mylos is the hats affair. Their selling is officially ruled: they can only be wore by inspectors (bowlers) and by managers (felt hats and top hats). "

In the same guide is an excerpt from 'Instructions for the future inspector' in which it is advised to never leave his hat alone, even to go to sleep. This to prevent any misuse by a normal worker.

THE PASSAGE

During my explorations of the island of Yliaster, I found a passage to this parallel world. My friend Loderer did not want to reveal its existence because he was afraid of the consequences. Alone, I did continue the exploration of this passage and met Joseph Le Perdriel who was exploring the passage from the other side towards our world. He talked to me about his town, Groningen, its museum and its five chimneys which made me immediately think of Mylos.

The presence of the man with the bowler proves that Mylos is also aware of the existence of this passage. Was this passage discovered during the period of Mary von Rathen ? How could it be different ?

Together with the man with the bowler and many other people, I was watching at the destruction of the chimneys and at the same time of the passage to the Obscure Cities.

Thanks to the information from  Joseph Le Perdriel, I knew how to get back. Did the man with the bowler share that knowledge or is he still in the parallel world ?

Mylos authorities do not want to confirm whether one of their inspectors did disappear or not.

MYLOS

The life in Mylos, consisting mainly in hard work, is very difficult. The acid smoke, the clamor of the machines, the quick rhythm, the work of children and the strict separation of the sexes are making life almost a nightmare.

Due to its way of living, Mylos has already long been excluded from important intercity organizations. After a period of hope created by what has since been called 'The Mary interval', the city has been isolated again.

After knowing that Mylos has already known this passage for long and that they did not share that knowledge, the isolation is going to last even longer. According to some rumors, the most important intercity organizations are trying to define how Mylos could be punished for its selfish behavior.

In the next edition of 'The Light':

An exclusive interview of Eugen Robick, the Continent's Urbatect. May be will he give us his opinion concerning the demolition of the five chimneys.

We will also show the results of our action to also spread 'The Light' in the parallel world.
